5 Easy Tips to increase your Google PR

- When you name a page, give it a name related to its content:
for example, i have a page mostly talking about PR and Adsense,
so it would be appropriate to call the page PR-adsense.html

- The former comment also applies to the title (meta script) !
And especially if you're using Blogger, because the title is used
to create the page's name.

- Try to keep your pages' adresses the shorter you can. For example 'http://Ivegotthispage.com/increase/page-rank/google/alpha/beta/delta/gamma/PR-adsense.html' is much too long ! 'http://Ivegotthispage.com/increase-google-PR/PR-adsense.html' would be much better.

- Whenever you can, you should use ".HTML" or ".HTM" pages.
Those pages are static and are more valuable in Google bots' eyes.
It's easier for a HTM/HTML page to score well in the rankings
than for a PHP page (which is dynamic).

- Avoid useless code in your page: the slimmer your code, the better it is! So, get rid of javascript that are not absolutely necessary.

Trackers can increase your PR

Getting backlinks (links to your site from others) is necessary to increase your Page Rank in the long term.

Google bots are quite busy. So it is useful to have a page listing all your backlinks to tell them what pages they should analyse. That's why I recommend to dedicate one page of your site to list the pages linking to your page - I say page and not website in purpose-.

But if you're using spamming on blogs, forums and other websites to get backlinks, it would be better to keep track of those backlinks elsewhere than on your website.
Because if your website is linking to too many sites that are not related you may suffer from a downgrade backlash from Google.

So the best tool to keep track of those backlinks (the referrers) to my viewpoint is

Have a look to the tracker created for this blog: My Tracker

All my referrers are listed. When Google bots analyse this page they collect the links. And when they crawl (analyse) them later, they will find links to my blog. For a website it would be better to have a tracker for every page, but for a blog it's easier with only one.

NB: not many backlinks on my tracker because I'm not actively promoting my blog, this blog is indeed a kind of non-lucrative initiative. ;-p

Extreme Tracking has some credit with Google bots, because it's an old domain (the older your domain the better). So the tracker you set up may get a good PR with time (so put the keywords you are competing in the tracker's name when you create it !).

Other aspects of trackers:

Trackers also allow a better understanding of your visitors: you may know the referring link, the keyword used in the search engine and much more.
Data-mining may help to improve your website.

To keep track of your visitors, here below a list of free trackers (but not for SEO):

StatCounter Invisible, no Ads :-)

Activemeter Invisible, no Ads :-)

Motigo Webstats Logo + PopUnder Ads :-(

I strongly recommend the invisible counters. Unfortunately even if Motigo is user-friendly it cannot compete because of those 'damned shit' PopUnder ads.

Get backlinks by using Social bookmarking

Social bookmark websites are an easy way to get backlinks that will increase your PR.
It's especially true with some sites like Netvouz or Mister-Wong. You can almost be sure that the links you add to those two bookmarking sites will be noticed by Google. :)
I definitely advise to open an account with them as it's free. So you may get easy backlinks!

List of Social Bookmark sites (by decreasing effectiveness for SEO):

Mixx

Propeller

digg

LeftHit

Netvouz

Mister Wong

Stumble Upon

BlueDot

Blogmark

del.icio.us

ma.gno.lia

Page Rank, Blogs and Comments

Here below a list of interesting tools to get the PR (Page rank) of a page:

SeoChat - PageRank-Search

Google AudiencesTV

You may increase your PR by getting links to your page from other pages with high page ranks. So in order to increase your PR you need to search high PR pages and to put your link on them.
How to do this? Well you may ask the webmaster of the targeted website to add a link for you. But most of the time they will not.

The best way is to use the blogs' comments !

For example:

My website talks about chinese radio.
Let's use
SeoChat - PageRank-Search. I will focus on blogspot platform:

- so i will search for: Blogspot chinese radio html
don't forget to class you search results by pagerank and to display 100 per page

Blogspot because it's the platform i'm digging in;

chinese radio because those are the keywords I want to compete on;

html because I want to put my comment (the link to my page) on a real page that has a real pr. Most of the time blogs' entry pages have a high PR but these pages change often, archive posts (with html extension) are more targeted and do not change.

- then I visit page results with a high PR and I put a comment as follows:

Name: my keywords
Email: I give a real email address: some bloggers don't like SEO and check before approving a comment
url: the link to my page

Comment:
make a short comment related to the post and if you can try to put the keywords in your comment.
